JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Event Set Up/Barback Reports to: Director of Catering & Events, Banquet Manager, Banquet Captain, Director of F&B, Director of Service
Supervises: Non-Supervisory Position
Position Summary:
The Banquet Event Set Up/Barback will assist with setup, service, and strike for all events assigned and ensure member/guest satisfaction and presentation are consistently attained. A successful Banquet Event Set Up/Barback will provide prompt and courteous service to all guests, encouraging guests to return which will generate repeat business. This is a non-exempt hourly position; work schedule will include nights, weekends, and holidays based on scheduled events or club necessity.
Pay: 15.00 - 18.00 an hour tip
Essential Job Functions: *including but not limited to*
- Attend and attentively listen to pre-shift meeting conducted by Catering Coordinator and Banquet Captain to learn function particulars, including guest expectations.
- Set up and break down tables, chairs, and other banquet equipment.
- Set up and breakdown of buffets and various stations (i.e., beverage, coffee, dessert, etc.).
- Set up banquet room as instructed including linen, service-ware, and glassware.
- Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended, and handle with care. Polish all silver items prior to opening buffet station, clean all items thoroughly after event and store in proper place(s). Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
- Reset banquet room according to supervisor’s specifications to ensure the readiness of the room for the following function as well as sanitation of the banquet areas.
- Keep bars stocked with liquor, beer, wine, ice, glassware, and all other necessary items before and during service hours.
- Assist with keeping bar areas clean by wiping counters and surfaces, sweeping and mopping, clearing used glasses.
- Anticipate guests needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests.
- Additional duties as assigned.

- Maintain a courteous, professional demeanor, and have a friendly, caring, and helpful attitude with clients, and club staff.
- Largely PM based schedule but must be flexible with changes due to business levels.
- Able to maintain a physically demanding workload.
- Ability to both give and take direction in a positive manner.
Preferred Education and/or Experience:
High school graduate or equivalent vocational training certificate. Must be 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages and have a good understand of the English language. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. Food Handlers and TABC Certifications are required for this role.
Physical Demands:
This position involves (on a regular basis) sitting, standing, walking, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting, reaching, climbing stairs/ladders, continuous repetitive motions, sometimes hot/cold and noisy environments, and lifting at least 50 pounds.
Work Environment:

Must be dependable and punctual, with a commitment to arriving on time for every event.
