WeylChem US Inc. is a chemical manufacturer located just outside of Columbia, SC. WeylChem US Inc. specializes in multi-step custom and toll manufacturing products.
Chemical Operators work 12-hour rotating shifts, averaging 15 working days per month.
Shift Schedule:
Rotates 7am-7pm for 2 weeks, 7pm-7am for 2 weeks

Fri-Sun, Off
Mon-Tues, Work

Fri-Sun, Work
Background check, physical and drug screen required.
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Chemical Operator operates and controls equipment systems that process chemical substances and monitors the production process to ensure efficiency.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Responsible for the safe, proper and timely operation of all equipment is his/her area according to the priorities set forth by his supervision.
ESSENTAIL DUTIES OF THE POSITION
- Comply with all safety regulations and report any unsafe condition to supervision
- Comply with all environmental regulations and report any environmental issues (i.e. spills or releases) to supervision
- Properly charge all materials to each process per written procedures including amounts and rates
- Properly maintain all batch parameters per written procedures
- Properly maintain all process documentation and log sheets
- Report any maintenance requirement to supervision
- Report any process problem to supervision
- Keep work areas neat, clean and free of debris
- In some areas, properly monitors and maintain the operation of the RTO
- Conduct a proper turn over with the off-going and oncoming shift
- Complete operator training classes as provided by WeylChem US Inc.
- Apply knowledge of plant operations to assist production supervisor
- Apply knowledge of plant trouble shooting of all plant equipment to assist production supervisor
KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Completed High school education or GED
- Attention to detail
- Ability to read and follow batch sheets
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position requires: Walking, climbing stairs and standing for extend periods of time, stooping/bending, pushing / pulling, lifting, visual requirements, wearing proper personal protective equipment

Mostly outside work
