Key Responsibilities:
- Community Engagement
- Develop and implement community engagement initiatives that foster dialogue and collaboration between WFAE and the community.
- Organize and facilitate events, forums and public discussions to engage diverse audiences.
- Serve as a liaison between WFAE and community organizations.
- Partnership Development:
- Help identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with local organizations, educational institutions and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with partners to create events and projects that align with WFAE’s mission and goals.
- Manage partnership agreements, ensuring deliverables are met and relationships are maintained.
- Outreach and Promotion:
- Develop and execute outreach strategies to increase awareness of WFAE’s work and attract new audiences.
- Work with the news, programming, membership and corporate development teams to promote community engagement activities and partnership initiatives.
- Represent WFAE at community events, meetings and other public forums.
- Cross-Team Collaboration:
- Maintain a company-wide calendar of WFAE events, discussions and other key initiatives
- Assist the community engagement producer in collaboration with reporters, editors and producers to integrate community input into our news and discussion planning.
- Support editorial and programming partnerships through engagement activities.
- Help create and manage events and activities that support membership/major and corporate development goals.
- Coordinate WFAE’s Community Advisory Board and other volunteers to support WFAE events and engagement activities.
- Evaluation and Reporting:
- Develop metrics and tools to evaluate the effectiveness of community engagement and partnership initiatives.
- Prepare regular reports on community engagement activities, partnership outcomes and audience feedback.
- Use data and feedback to continuously improve engagement strategies and approaches.
- 5 years of relevant experience in community engagement, partnership development or related roles, preferably within a media, nonprofit or public service organization.
- Experience managing teams and working successfully in matrixed environments.
- Proven success in event budgeting, planning and implementation.
- Strong marketing and promotion skills.
- Proficiency in data and analytics.
- Understanding of and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion principles.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and individuals.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Familiarity with digital media and social media platforms.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
Salary : $65,000 - $80,000
