Job Summary
The Accounts Manager is responsible for managing a business unit, ensuring our key assets — including customers, aircraft, staff, ground support equipment, and facilities — are maintained to high standards. This role involves building strong relationships with the airport authority, actively participating in the airport community, and overseeing operations according to contracts and service level agreements. The Accounts Manager supervises staff, delegates tasks, monitors equipment maintenance, and analyzes staffing and equipment needs. Additionally, they create succession plans to identify and develop future leaders, manage attendance records, and control labor budgets. Compliance with corporate security and TSA regulations is essential, as is ensuring site-specific security measures are followed. All staff must have a company ID displayed, and the Accounts Manager should maintain a fair and respectful workplace. They also ensure the company’s image is represented with integrity.
Starting Pay Rate : $75k / year
Responsibilities
Manage business unit operations, including asset maintenance for aircraft, staff, and ground support equipment.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with airport authorities and act as a key member of the airport community.
Oversee compliance with contracts, service level agreements, and corporate security programs, including TSA regulations.
Supervise and delegate workload among staff, ensuring effective scheduling, attendance tracking, and budget control.
Monitor and maintain Ground Support Equipment (GSE) assets, managing preventive maintenance, repairs, and analyzing future equipment needs.
Implement a succession plan to identify, train, and develop potential leaders within the team.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Aviation Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Minimum of 3-5 years of management experience, preferably in aviation or a related industry.
Strong understanding of TSA regulations and airport security protocols.
Experience managing budgets, scheduling, and labor cost allocation.
Ability to effectively supervise, motivate, and train staff.
Independent judgment and decision-making skills required.
Must be able to work weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), holidays, and days off.
Preferred Skills
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, particularly with stakeholders like airport authorities.
Previous experience working with Air Canada.
Knowledge of ground support equipment and preventative maintenance planning.
Proficiency in MS Office and operations management software.
Problem-solving and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
Leadership and mentorship capabilities, with experience in creating development plans for team members.
Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
Ability to lift to 70 lbs.
Ability to work in a dynamic, airport environment, often on the ground near aircraft and equipment.
Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physically able to walk, stand, and operate on uneven surfaces throughout the day.
Comfortable in both indoor office settings and outdoor conditions, sometimes in extreme weather.
