Job Summary
This job is primarily responsible for purchasing and sourcing activities in support of regional operations. The role requires excellent interpersonal skills, knowledge of organizational policies, supplier relationship development and management, and traditional purchasing practices representing the Sourcing & Supply Department to front line operations.
Responsibilities
Essential duties include the following :
Responsible for regional purchasing on behalf of station operations (i.e. placing orders for standard supplies like uniforms, office supplies, operational supplies, safety supplies, etc.).
Review and research potential new suppliers prior to set up in the company’s accounting system, select and maintain a preferred supplier list for the region
Ensure adherence to standard organizational finance policies and procedures
Manage employee appreciation program redemption and fulfillment process
Communicate with and drive internal customers to centralized purchasing programs through daily interactions
Manage day-to-day interaction with centralized supplier partners and review monthly centralized invoices to ensure contract pricing compliance
Negotiate / resolve centralized supplier grievances and claims against the company
Provide research and support to Purchasing Manager and Director
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Knowledge of standard office equipment and of clerical and administrative procedures and systems
Proficient in all Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel.
Minimum 3 years of purchasing / accounting or other relevant experience (finance, accounts payable, customer service)
The ability to interact effectively with peers, executive staff, suppliers, and internal customers in a professional manner. - Strong attention to detail. - Highly organized and focused. - The ability to recognize and safeguard confidential information.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently to achieve team objectives.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
The ability to work on multiple projects and to establish appropriate priorities.
Ability to maintain focus while operating in a dynamic and high-pressure environment.
Preferred Skills
Bachelor's Degree a plus / preferred.
Background in finance, accounts payable, customer service, or supply chain a plus.
Purchasing card administration experience a plus.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
In-office attendance is required (i.e. not a work-from-home position).
