Union Construction Laborer

Union Construction Laborers are responsible for performing a variety of skilled tasks for our commercial clients and/or construction jobsites which include landscape installation projects, laying of mulch and sod, hydroseeding, and various hardscape tasks (brick patios, pavers, walls) at WH Canon Landscape Company. All laborers report to the Construction Foreman who is responsible for planning and management of jobsite and materials. Additional duties often involve operating power tools, performing physical labor, and maintaining equipment. This position provides the opportunity to work in the winter where you will be on-call for snow removal tasks.

Job Duties and Requirements:

• Required to be onsite every day on assigned project.
• Install work, plant material, job materials following Foreman directive
• Operate equipment and perform other labor-oriented tasks as needed.
• Maintain plant material and installed site landscape throughout the construction and warranty periods until final sign off by the owner or owner’s representative
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record. Chauffeur's license and DOT prior to driving a company vehicle.
• Responsible for wearing PPE provided by company, hard hat, safety vest, and glasses.
• Ability to bend, squat, and lift (min 50 pounds) for long periods of time.
• Able to work outdoors in a wide variety of conditions for an extended period.
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in the landscape industry is preferred.
• Schedule: 10 hour shift

THIS IS A FULL TIME HOURLY UNION POSITION - Michigan Laborers 1191 Union

BASE WAGE is based on experience:

• Class A Construction Foremen - $25.56
• Class B Skilled Landscape Operator - $23.34
• Class C Landscape Laborer - $22.17
• Class D Laborer Inexperience Laborer - $18.74
