Purpose & General Description of the Position: This position is responsible for carrying out a wide range of activities that support the marketing, development, and fundraising efforts on behalf of the Agency to build awareness and support within the community about our mission.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in public relations, marketing, business development, communications, journalism or directly related field; and 2 to 5 years professional work experience in the field of marketing, or public relations.
- Valid Michigan driver's license with a driving record acceptable to the Agency's insurance carrier.
- Meet State "Good Moral Character" guidelines
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Proven experience in content creation, digital marketing, or a similar role.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and content management systems.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Essential Skills & Duties:
- Develop and execute a content strategy aligned with WCC's organizational goals and brand.
- Produce high-quality, creative content including blogs, articles, social media posts, video scripts, and more.
- Manage and grow WCC's social media presence by crafting engaging posts, responding to comments, and fostering community interaction.
- Collaborate with different departments to ensure consistent messaging and branding.
- Assist in the planning and production of communication materials, such as brochures and reports.
- Optimize content for SEO to enhance online visibility and use analytics to measure performance, providing data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Conduct interviews and research to gather relevant content insights.
- Monitor content performance and adjust strategies as needed.
- Stay updated with the latest trends in content creation and digital marketing.
- Assist in organizing and promoting events, ensuring clear and compelling communication materials.
- Effectively and professionally represent agency to the general public, visitors, volunteers, media representatives and others as required.
- Participating in all required team and staff meetings, including individual supervision and other staff development opportunities and maintaining all annual training requirements.
- Other duties, tasks and responsibilities as may occasionally be assigned by the Director of Development, Chief Advancement Officer, COO, and/or President/CEO.
