ROLE:
WHC – A Surerus Murphy Company (WHC), is seeking to recruit a Payroll Administrator. This Payroll Administrator processes all payroll related time entry, reports, benefit deductions, W2s and audit document requests. This position requires an extremely detail-oriented person with significant knowledge of payroll administration, including state and federal regulations.

This position requires an extremely detail-oriented person with significant knowledge of payroll administration, including state and federal regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the preparation and processing of the weekly payroll (This includes the entire cycle of payroll processing from the capturing of new employees, leave, terminations, etc.)
- Maintain a proper document control system.
- Ensure that employee changes are entered correctly and made on a timely basis, review changes for proper authorization.
- Processing levies and garnishments.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and irregularities.
Note: In addition to these duties personnel are required to carry out such other duties as may be reasonably required in order to support the objectives of the company.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications
- High School diploma (or equivalent) is required.
- A minimum of 2 – 4 years’ experience in payroll is an asset.
- Must have hands-on experience in an accounting environment.
- Solid understanding of federal and state wage and hour laws including payroll, taxes, withholding, deductions and garnishments.
- Skilled in MS Excel.
- Strong analytical processing skills.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
- Excellent critical thinking abilities.
- Skilled in organization and project management.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
