What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Director of Financial Aid/Student Employment position at Wheaton College?
The Assistant Director of Financial Aid / Student Employment administers the College's Student Employment program (involving between 800-900 students per year, and up to 120 supervisors). Program responsibilities include operations, communications, compliance, budget tracking and reporting.
- Maintain compliance around federal work-study funding and overall employment law.
- Perform monthly and annual reconciliation of FWS and Wheaton Work earnings with payroll and budget offices.
- Collaborate with the Coordinator of Lyons Student Employment Program in Life and Career Design and the Payroll Office.
- Participate in Enrollment yield activities both virtually and in person.
- Supervise student intern.
This position requires strong communication and organizational skills as well as a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff across campus.
Minimum Qualifications :
The Assistant Director must have thorough knowledge of the Federal Work-Study program, as well as overall employment regulations, and work in conjunction with Human Resources to ensure compliance.

When determining and establishing hiring rates or recruitment ranges for a position, the College considers a number of factors including the budget for the position, the range of the grade, the external market for the position or similar positions, level and scope of responsibilities, required education, skills and relevant experience as well as internal equity. All salary offers must have the prior approval of the Office of Human Resources.
The anticipated hiring or recruitment range for this position is $50,000-55,000.
