Assist bakers in daily cleaning, prep, and production tasks according to Wheatsville and Health Department standards. Ensure accurate portioning, labeling, stocking, fronting, and sampling of bakehouse products. Drive the bakehouse van ensuring timely deliveries and safe handling of product between stores.

Starting with a group of unpaid volunteers affectionately known as “the turn-ups”, Wheatsville has sought to provide access to quality, sustainable food sources and be the heart of the community from our early days on Guadalupe to our expansion on South Lamar in 2013. Qualifications
- Help us in our goal to be the friendliest store in town
- Package and label delicious baked goods
- Keep Bakehouse van, department, equipment and dishes clean and organized
- Drive our Bakehouse van to deliver and transfer product between our Lamar and Guadalupe locations
- Abide by Wheatsville Safe Driver Policy and traffic laws - inform Bakehouse Manager immediately of any accidents or traffic violations
- Maintain driver log records
- Follow established protocols for ensuring the safe handling and timely delivery of internal transfers and deliveries
- Follow appropriate procedures to ensure standards are met with regards to sanitation, safe food handling practices, handling and labeling of organics and allergens
- Communicate vehicle failure or maintenance issues to Bakehouse Supervisor as soon as practical
- Ensure the vehicle interior is clean at the end of each scheduled shift
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness and production in order to supply multiple locations and assist bakers
- Put away deliveries, ensuring rotation and proper dating
- This job requires frequent standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50lbs and exposure to extreme heat and cold
- A MOTOR VEHICLE REPORT (MVR), VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE & FOOD HANDLER’S CERTIFICATE are required
