Wheeler Machinery Co. is seeking to hire a Parts Shop Expeditor for the Kennecott Copper Mine location. Full-time benefited position. Keep safety first in all tasks while utilizing TRACK/Tyfoom. Provide Kennecott with parts solutions while contributing to a positive and energetic environment.
Mine Parts Shop Expeditor will address the needs of our technicians and supporting the broader business. Responsible for the fulfilling and management of all parts transactions to shop and Mine operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the day-to-day operations of the business.
- Curate necessary parts or generated lists from Service Operations.
- Understand and target OTIF opportunities in the shop order process.
- Evaluate and manage the DIFOT report to help Wheeler maintain the minimum 93% score.
- Order parts for technicians, ensuring proper need-by dates and order methods are utilized.
- Expedite backorder parts to minimize delays.
- Communicate ESD and challenged part concerns, providing actionable plans to address them.
- Be physically embedded in the responsible area, ensuring close coordination with the Service & Parts Operations teams.
- Generate return requests on the same day to improve efficiency.
- Create SR tags for core inspections within the same day of receipt.
- Assist the shop in expediting and tracking returns, reman core credits, and warranty issues.
- Work with team leads and shop supervisors to target area needs for parts and processes.
- Order and fulfill any vendor-based parts supported by the Parts Department by creating purchase orders direct to work orders.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

- Proven experience in a heavy equipment service role, with at least 5 years of experience.
- Good computer skills to include Microsoft office, Cat ET & SIS, and other related software platforms & Wheeler programs such as DBS, WMS, PTMS, Antares, OTV, and Microsoft office suite.
- Teamwork: Willing to promote a teamwork attitude working closely with all departments throughout the company as well as a team building attitude.
- Excellent technical knowledge of equipment systems and repair techniques.
- Strategic Organization: Need to have the ability and self-discipline to use time, energy, resources, etc. in an effective way to achieve department and company objectives.
- Ownership: Ability to envision and understand a described goal, objective, concept, or strategy and takes the initiative to get there.
- Communication: Ability to work and communicate well with co-workers and customers. Reacts well under pressure.
- Understands the urgency of our industries and the need for getting their equipment repaired as quickly as possible.
- Understands problem ownership. When given a problem will take ownership of it and determine a solution for the customer while maintaining the integrity of the Wheeler team
- Understanding of Wheeler Machinery & vendor logistic networks.
- Time Management: Will posses time management skills to keep current on needs of the operation inside and out of their designated area.
- Willing to be a solution for any request asked and facilitate the need directly or involve other resources. Always be willing to jump in and learn more about process and procedures that are new and not new to them.
Travel Requirements:
- Clean driving, and safety records.
- Daily commute to and from the mine.
- Some travel may be required for attending training and or service conferences.
