Job Summary: The Federal Work-Study Student Assistant at the Appalachian Institute will engage in a diverse range of tasks, including lawn care, gardening, office administrative duties, and additional projects aimed at supporting the institute's goals. This role is ideal for students interested in environmental stewardship, community engagement, and administrative support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the maintenance of the institute's gardens and grounds, including lawn care, planting, and general upkeep.
- Participate in the planning and execution of community outreach and educational programs related to Appalachian culture and environmental issues.
- Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, preparing mailings, and managing correspondence.
- Help coordinate events and workshops hosted by the institute.
- Support research projects by collecting and organizing data as needed.
- Engage with community members and other stakeholders to promote the institute’s initiatives.
