Job Description - Civil Construction Project Manager/Estimator
Our Civil Construction Project Manager oversees and is involved in the entire process of a construction project. They will be expected to create and manage a budget, obtain the correct permits to start building, communicate the clients goals to those apart of the project, and coordinate equipment and materials. The Project Manager will be required to be at the job site many days a week to guarantee the project is up to Whelcon Contractors LLC standards and meets the original stated requirements. The applicant is expected to be able to communicate effectively and efficiently between the client and Whelcon Contractor LLC employees.

Construction Project Manager/Estimator Responsibilities:
- Co-operate with Whelcon engineers, architects, and laborers to accurately design the desired project for the client.
- Perform accurate revenue and cost financial forecasting for each project to ensure the goals of our company are reached and profitability levels meet or exceed expected margins.
- Ability to create estimates and submit on bidding opportunities
- Predict materials and resources for expected project whilst staying within the desired budget.
- Provide appropriate direction and assistance over contracts and sub contracts.
- Retrieve the necessary permits, approvals, and any other required regulatory prerequisites
- Draft and submit a budget and schedule according to work and resource requirements.
- Coordinate efforts to meet resource schedules to manage all materials, labor and cost to meet budget.
- Provide progress updates regarding timelines and cost.
- Verify work is done in accordance of both Whelcon Contractor LLC and building safety codes.
- Effectively communicate contract and technical matters to all whom it may concern
- Establish working relationships project owners or agencies, subcontractors, Whelcon personnel, inspectors, etc., providing top notch client and customer service to develop business relationships with our client base.
- Manage any delays, emergencies, or complications that arise.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in construction with some emphasis on project management.
- Bachelors in Building Construction, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Architecture
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and various drawings.
- Experience and proficiency in navigating Google and Microsoft products.
- Display knowledge in construction, architecture and engineering principles.
- Familiar with contract and subcontract documents, involving terms and conditions.
- Ability to create and manage budgets, schedule and control cost.
- Outstanding leadership and management skills with effective communication.
Physical Demands
Physical demands as described must be met by an employee of Whelcon Construction LLC to perform essential job functions successfully. Applicant must be able to do the following:
- Talk, hear, and see with the ability to distinguish colors.
- Stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time.
- Use hands to write and operate a computer keyboard.
- Wear weighted safety gear as required by safety regulation for long periods of time, such as steel-toed shoes, a belt safety harness, and a hard hat.
- Withstand extreme outdoor temperature variations for an entire workday.
