What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Driver/Assistant for Vending Operations position at WHG Vending Inc?
Vendor seeks a mature, dependable, and honest person as a Driver/Assistant for a vending company with machines in Lee, Collier, and Charlotte counties.
The owner of this company is blind and relies on the driver/assistant to accomplish his work. This is a permanent part-time job: 2-3 days/week, 5-6 hours/day, Monday-Friday. No evenings, weekends, or holidays.
We are looking for drivers who are only interested in working a few days/week and are willing to fill in for one another when the need arises. A week may consist of 5 days and 30 hours, but this job will never be a fulltime position.
Duties include, but may not be limited to:
Driving a van from site to site along the route to transport vending stock and stopping at various locations to replenish vending machines.
Assisting the blind vendor in loading drink and snack carts, loading carts onto the van, stocking, inspecting, and sometimes adjusting machines.
Requirements:
Dependable – the ability to show up and do the job
Trustworthy – this is a cash business, owner is blind, and must trust employees implicitly
Valid driver's license
Able to drive GMC 3500 box truck
Able to perform heavy lifting, e.g., hoisting cases of 24 20 oz. bottles, et al
Able to push a fairly heavy cart for some distances over variable surfaces able to load and off-load fairly heavy snack and soft drink carts from the truck via a ramp
Able to perform routine maintenance and mechanical repairs on machines (training, manuals, and support will be provided)
Able to proficiently speak, read, and write English
Able to pass a TSA/Port Authority background check to be badged into secure areas at RSW airport
This is a permanent part-time position compensation is $20.00/hour
