Whirlpool Corporation is seeking a Business Affairs Manager for our first-of-its-kind division: WoW Studios. WoW Studios is the next generation of advertising, storytelling, and experience for brands like KitchenAid, Whirlpool, JennAir, Maytag, Amana, and more. With support from executive leadership, using the latest digital marketing tools, and empowering award-winning marketing teams and talent, we’re elevating Whirlpool Corporation through investing in creativity and improving consumers’ lives inside millions of homes.

WoW Studios’ North American headquarters is located in the historic Reid Murdoch Building at the edge of Chicago’s Riverwalk.
In this role, you will be an integral member of the Business Affairs team within WoW Studios
across all 5 brands (KitchenAid, Whirlpool, Maytag, JennAir, Amana).
Your responsibilities will include
- Assist and partner with Head of BA to transition talent/rights files across all brands to WoW Studios/Whirlpool
- Manage the day-to-day details of production including, but not limited to, estimate development, distribution of contracts, tracking job costs and submitting talent session and final cast reports to Extreme Reach/AdBridge
- Provide talent costs for production estimates and TR forecasting
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage talent contracts/buyout agreements for both union/non-union and foreign productions
- For union productions, partner with CMC, the SAG Signatory for Whirlpool
- Negotiate all licenses and clearances for intellectual property rights, including images, artwork, music, overscale talent, photographer and models, influencers, etc.
- Track talent usage expirations and renegotiate/reinstate talent agreements
- Manage renewals (both talent and 3rd party licenses) for broadcast/digital/print use
- Review scripts and creative concepts for possible third-party clearances, licensing, intellectual property concerns and provide watch outs
- Partner with Senior Managers, production leads and legal counsel to assess risk and/or to resolve any liability issues within assigned production, creating viable and workable solutions
- Facilitate invoice approvals, payments and job actualization
- Work with Producers, Brand, and Finance to reconcile jobs
- Guide production, creative, brands through the established production process within WoW Studios
Minimum requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- ~5 years experience in digital/broadcast production
- ~5 years experience with production, editing, music, talent management
- Experience with image and talent usage rights
- Experience with Asset Management Systems
Preferred skills and experiences
- Self-motivated, proactive, organized and thrive in fast-paced, creative environment with tight deadlines
- Exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, patience and great overall attitude
- Must have strong understanding and knowledge of SAG-AFTRA guidelines, requirements, agreements and negotiations
- Skilled at negotiating both overscale talent and low budget waivers
- Proven track record with negotiating talent contracts/buyouts for non-union and foreign talent
- Strong understanding of AICP and AICE bids
- Must have a strong ability and passion for educating and mentoring all levels of employees on matters related to Business Affairs
- Experience with risk assessments in connection with productions and contract concerns
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of reviewing and negotiating vendor terms and conditions, production agreements and insurance coverage
