This role in summary


Whirlpool is seeking qualified candidates for an NPI Quality Analyst position. This position is located at our Greenville, Ohio facility. As the NPI Quality Analyst, you will be responsible for leading and driving change through the implementation of the World Class Manufacturing tools to solve problems and make improvements throughout the Greenville manufacturing plant.  Developing and performing the activities of support to manufacturing quality, following internal and external audits, evaluating and  maintaining Control Plans, monitoring and performing process audits, validating and approving process and equipment and releasing it for production, ensuring Measurement System Analysis has been carried out on applicable measurement means and devices, listing and establishing monitoring of proper functionality of mistake and error proofing devices, coordinating and supporting the activities of  quality auditors (if any designated), attending fast response meetings and GEMBA walks, monitoring Key KPIs (such as CAL SIR, FPY), establishing proper data recording and analysis on all processes and characteristics where SPC must be applied, performing detailed and profound analysis of quality issues of internal failures and Customer returns and coordinating improvement activities through proper usage of the WCM Methodology (6 sigma) for failure rate reduction, pursuing Zero Defects.

Your responsibilities will include

  • EPM (Early Product Management) and EEM (Early Equipment Management) step 1 lead (Best Practices and Lesson Learned collection) into New Product Introduction (NPI) projects
  • Responsible for Occurrence and Release (O&R) execution and Launch QA Matrix design as a baseline for NPIs plan and execution
  • Accountable for O&R and Launch QA Matrix execution and closure of process related findings into NPIs
  • Support Critical Parameters Management (CPM) evolution through metrology resources into NPIs
  • Accountable for the quality of PFMEAs (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) into NPIs
  • Responsible for the pre-launch Control Plan into NPIs
  • QA lead at the WPI weekly team
  • Accountable as Quality PV and Early Production Containment (EPC) lead
  • Follow the internal and external audits performed on manufacturing areas, explaining the process flow and its controls, aiming to obtain or maintain the quality system certified
  • Support the creation and maintenance of control plans, based on technical documentation defined on PFMEA and on product technical drawings and results of process validation performed
  • Work together with Process Engineering, Product Engineering and Suppliers in the validation and Approval of process and equipment prior to the release for production, following and promoting proper inspection or measurement of samples collected on manufacturing process, with the objective to evaluate the manufacturing process capability to meet given specifications
  • Monitor measurement system devices and ensure proper MSA analysis, as well as analyzing the variability of the measurement equipment results
  • Support the and participate on Fast Response meetings, discussing the quality levels of processes, Customer product return indexes and Top Internal failures per process, providing support for fast actions, aiming to improve the quality in the production processes
  • Implement a controlled List of all Poka-Yokes and Error proof devices on applicable processes and establish activities of monitoring to ensure continuous and proper functionality
  • Identify process and product characteristics that require SPC (Statistical Process Control) management and implement proper data recording, analysis and appropriate countermeasures on all processes and characteristics where SPC must be applied

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor Degree
  • 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 1 years of experience with Continuous Improvement Initiatives and processes (eg. Kaizen, 8D, PDCA, etc.)

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • 2 years of experience in Quality
  • Experience in New Projects 
  • Creative problem-solving techniques and ability to accomplish tasks and objectives.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and leadership skills.
  • World Class Manufacturing (WCM) or 6 Sigma Approach
  • Excellent communications, conflict management, coaching, interpersonal and team building skills
  • Knowledge and application of Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques
  • Experience with application of Measurement System Analysis (MSA)
  • Ability applying advanced problem-solving tools (i.e. Kaizens, DOEs, Statistical Analysis)
