What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pet Care Technician position at Whispering Pines Pet Resort?
Please note: for the time being, this job opening is specifically for weekends. There will be more hours available around mid-late May. Weekday afternoons are open for discussion for those with supervisor experience.
As a Pet Care Employee, you will be essential in providing high-quality animal care and ensuring the well-being of pets in our facility. With core skills in kennel experience and animal handling, you will be responsible for the daily care, feeding, and monitoring of pets. Your contributions will further enhance the care provided to our furry clients. Additionally, any relevant skills in customer service will help foster positive relationships with pet owners, making you a vital part of our dedicated team committed to exceptional pet care.
Responsibilities: Feed, water, and exercise animals according to their specific needs. Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, bedding, and common areas. Monitor the health and well-being of animals and report any concerns to the supervisor. Maintain accurate records of animal care and behavior. Ensure every pet receives mindful safe keeping.
Skills: Ability to safely handle dogs of various sizes and personalities. Animal health and behavior knowledge; ability to recognize needs and concerns.
Kennel experience, breed knowledge, and reliability are mandatory. Attention to detail and a team-player mindset are also key. This job does entail being on one's feet throughout the shift.
Note: This job description is a basic overview. Employees may be asked to perform other related duties as requested to meet the ongoing needs of the organization. Please note that this position requires both indoor and outdoor tasks. Hooray for fresh air and sunshine!
Availability on weekends and holidays is necessary, as these are peak times.
Generally, shift times are as follows: Mornings; 7am to 2-3 pm. Afternoon/evenings; 2pm to 8-9pm. Employees are not required to work both, and may choose which one suits them best.
Starting pay varies, depending on experience, skill level, availability, etc.
