White & Allen, a long-established, team-oriented law firm is seeking a criminal / domestic paralegal to join our team. We are looking for a positive individual who enjoys helping people, regularly demonstrates initiative, and can work well under pressure while meeting deadlines. Previous experience is required. Office hours are Monday - Thursday, 8 : 30 a.m. - 5 : 15 p.m. and Friday 8 : 30 a.m. - 1 : 00 p.m.
The ideal candidate will need to be deadline-oriented with strong attention to detail, able to work well with others, and will be responsible for assisting the supervising attorney in criminal / domestic matters. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to :
- Managing the attorney’s calendar to ensure deadlines are met in a timely fashion
- Reviewing files and conferring with the attorney to discuss the status of the file as well as upcoming deadlines
- Assisting attorney with preparing for client meetings, pre-trial and motions hearings, trials, etc.
- Drafting client correspondence
- Maintaining client files
- Communicating with clients on a consistent basis
- Conducting legal research and drafting letters, briefs, memorandums, and other legal documents
- Drafting and reviewing written discovery
