Position Summary:
Performs intermediate professional work assisting students and supporting families by providing strategic services that address the social-emotional-environmental issues that may interfere with the educational process. Working with parents/guardians, teachers, school administration, and community-based resources, the Social Worker helps remove barriers that may limit a student’s access to a fulfilled educational experience. In doing so, this implements strategies that promotes students’ learning, positive school adjustment and creates meaningful relationships, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Building Principal and Director of Special Services.
Education and /or Experience:
Bachelor's degree in social work, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree preferred.
Special Requirements:
School Social Worker's license.
