We are looking for a passionate and reliable Kennel Hand to join our team and help us provide the best care possible for our guests.
Position Overview: As a Kennel Hand, you will be integral to the daily operations of our pet ranch, ensuring that all pets are cared for with the highest level of attention and professionalism. You will work closely with our veterinary team, under the supervision of Dr. Morgan, to maintain the safety, comfort, and happiness of our guests. This position offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of pets while working in a peaceful, rural setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Animal Care: Feed, water, and exercise dogs as per their individual schedules and requirements. Ensure pets’ living areas are clean, secure, and comfortable.
- Facility Maintenance: Maintain clean and safe kennels, yards, and play areas. Ensure that the facility meets the highest standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Specialized Attention: Provide extra care for pets with special needs, including administering medications and following specific dietary instructions as directed by veterinary staff.
- Client Interaction: Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor when interacting with clients, providing updates on their pets as needed.
- Assisting Veterinary Staff: Work alongside the veterinary team to monitor the health and behavior of pets, report any changes, and assist with medical treatments when necessary.
- Safety & Security: Monitor the safety and well-being of all pets, ensuring they are securely housed and properly supervised during playtime or outdoor activities.
- Record Keeping: Keep detailed records of daily care activities, including feeding, medications, and behavioral observations.
Qualifications:
- Passion for Animals: Previous experience working with animals (preferred) or a strong desire to learn. Must love animals and be patient, caring, and responsible.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to follow instructions and provide consistent, high-quality care for each pet.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move animals, as well as maintain physical activity throughout the day.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Animal Medical Knowledge (Preferred): Experience with pet medications, special diets, and handling pets with behavioral needs is a plus.
