About Us: WLE Print Solutions is a Print Shop located in Eugene, OR! We provide wide format printing, packaging and labeling specializing in the cannabis industry. We also produce for our very own sister company, White Label Extracts, a locally owned and operated cannabis company.
Job Description: Do you want to embark in a fun, fulfilling career in the print industry? Do you already have printing experience but looking for a change? WLE Print Solutions is looking for a Print Shop Production Assistant to assist in our print shop. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of different print shop machinery and supplies. They would help the print shop with its daily operations such as any busy work, sticker and roll splicing, cleaning and organizing and working with other departments to help fulfill their needs. The Print Shop Production Assistant must maintain high standards and be able to help assist in meeting deadlines efficiently.
Duties:
- Roll Splicing (Cutting Rolls of Stickers): Accurately cutting and preparing rolls of stickers for production. Ensuring precision in cuts to prevent waste and maintain quality.
- Operating a Forklift: Safely operating a forklift to move large or heavy materials within the print shop, assisting in loading and unloading shipments, and organizing stock as needed.
- Tamp Machine Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance on the tamp machine, such as cleaning, lubricating, and troubleshooting minor issues to ensure smooth operation.
- Busy Work in the Print Shop: Supporting the daily workflow with miscellaneous tasks that keep the shop running smoothly, including assisting with packaging or material preparation.
- Labeling: Applying labels to products or packages with precision, ensuring accuracy in labeling to meet order specifications and company standards.
- Recycling and Trash Management: Collecting and sorting recyclable materials, disposing of waste appropriately, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace by managing trash removal.
- Cleaning: Keeping workstations, machines, and common areas clean and organized. This includes wiping down surfaces, sweeping floors, and performing light janitorial tasks.
- Assisting Print Shop Leaders with Tasks: Providing hands-on support to print shop supervisors and managers with various tasks, responding to their requests, and ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Stocking and Warehouse Organization: Restocking supplies, organizing materials, and maintaining an orderly workspace to ensure easy access to resources.
- Packing/Handling/Shipping and Pickup Orders: Preparing finished products for shipping or customer pickup, packing items securely, labeling them for shipping, and coordinating with deliveries with customers.
- Dishes (Washing Jars): Cleaning jars and other equipment used in production, ensuring they are properly sanitized and ready for reuse.
- Ability to Work with Tools/Be Handy: Utilizing basic hand tools for tasks such as adjusting machines, performing light repairs, or assembling packaging. Having the mechanical know-how to handle various shop tools and equipment.

- Mechanical Skills: A solid understanding of basic mechanics to troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on shop equipment, such as the tamp machine or other tools.
- Handy with Tools: Comfortable using a variety of hand and power tools to assist with tasks in the shop, whether it's adjusting equipment, fixing small issues, or helping with assembly.
- No Software or Printing Tasks: This role does not require the use of software systems or performing printing tasks. The focus is purely on manual and mechanical duties in the shop.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: The ability to think on your feet, troubleshoot issues that arise during production, and find quick solutions to keep operations running smoothly.
- Basic Math Skills: Understanding measurements, counts, and weights to assist with material handling and product packaging.
- Teamwork-Oriented: Being able to collaborate efficiently with different team members across the shop.
- Time Management: Staying on schedule and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently, identifying tasks that need to be completed without constant oversight.
- Forklift Certification: Having or being willing to obtain certification for operating a forklift
- OLCC/Marijuana Worker Permit: Must have or be willing to obtain OLCC Marijuana Permit
Physical Requirements:
- Able to Lift 70lbs: Physical strength to handle heavy materials, equipment, and boxes as required, ensuring safe and effective material handling throughout the day.
- Able to Sit and Stand for Long Periods: Comfort with long periods of standing or sitting as needed, depending on the task at hand, such as splicing rolls or operating a machine.
Able to Be on Feet and Moving Around as Necessary: Physical stamina to be on your feet and moving around the shop throughout the day, performing tasks that require mobility and agility to meet production demands.
