Children's Services Specialist - Romeoville Branch (part time)
The White Oak Library District, serving the communities of Crest Hill, Lockport, and Romeoville, Illinois is seeking applicants interested in filling a part time position in the Children’s Services Department at our Romeoville Branch Library. This position equals 25 hours per week. The selected candidate will be expected to provide a diverse range of library patron services relating to children, including assistance with library programs, collection development, staffing the Children’s desk, instructing patrons in the use of electronic and print resources, and a variety of related tasks. Position reports directly to the Children’s Supervisor.
Minimum qualifications: Must possess a Library Technical Assistant Certificate (LTA), or currently be attending an American Library Association accredited MLS graduate school, or possess a bachelor’s degree and relevant experience. Children’s services experience in a public library preferred. Applicants should have computer experience, including Internet and the use of online databases, and ability to work days, evenings and weekends. Knowledge of the Polaris Database is a plus. Applicants will also be required to travel between our facilities as needed. Salary range begins at $20.00 per hour and increases commensurate with performance.
