Job Summary: Will monitor patients that are on telemetry and or monitors. Will immediately notify the primary nurse of any cardiac changes that the patients may have. Will ensure that telemetry strips are uploaded into the patient’s EMR at the end of each shift. Will keep an accurate count of what telemetries are in use and where they are located.
Job Duties:
I. Job Knowledge/Productivity
a. Maintains clean, stocked, and organized rooms and work environment.
b. Responds appropriately to urgent and emergent situations.
c. Properly and safely operates and manages equipment.
d. Compliance with Fall Precautions and Infection Prevention Protocols
e. Ability to set priorities and complete tasks in a timely manner.

a. Appropriately and clearly communicates to charge nurse, physicians, and co-workers.
b. Treats all other staff, patients and families with respect and dignity.
c. Maintains a positive attitude.
d. Notifies nurse of any findings out of normal range.
e. Verifieswith charge nurse when leaving unit.
III. Dependability/Initiative
a. Work and documentation are accurate and complete.
b. Appropriate scanning of supplies and patient arm bands
IV. Education/Development
a. Present at staff meetings and in-services
b. Completes unit meetings and posted education.

VI. Guest Relations
a. Always maintains patient privacy and abides by HIPPA
b. Appropriate telephone and call light etiquette
c. AIDET when approaching patients.
VII. Patient Care
a. Follows appropriate process for admitting a new ICU/PCU patient.
b. Monitors all alarms and call lights promptly and appropriately.
c. Assists with meals, bathing, ADL, and any other patient care measures required.
d. Monitor’s temperatures, weights, I&O and accu-checks as ordered and assist with any
other required patient monitoring and document appropriately.
e. Assists with any patient transfers and discharges.
f. Performs purposeful rounding on patients, complete PCT worksheet and document on
white boards.
VIII. Attendance
a. Punctual arrival for scheduled shift and present for shift huddle
b. Abides by dress code policy.
c. Wears proper identification.
d. Follows and understands policies.
IX. Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.
Special Qualifications: Excellent interpersonal skills, including phone skills.
Exhibit the ability to be flexible, organized and function in stressful
circumstances
Qualifications:
- Education: Certification as a Nursing Assistant: BLS, High School Graduate or GED Equivalent is required, CNA Certification preferred
- Training and Experience: Experience is preferred but will provide on the job training

- Must be able to report to work fit for duty and free of any adverse effects of illegal drugs, medical marijuana, prescription medication, and/or alcohol.
- Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with other individuals.
