The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible, solely, for the timely and accurate processing of invoices for one or more Tracker Marine entities. The processing of invoices is a continuous cycle.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Verifies the accuracy of the received goods or services by confirming the date received determines when liability/expense is to be recorded, the quantity determines accuracy of invoice amount and the description of goods or services determines to which account the purchase is to be coded.
- Monitors approved purchase orders for every receipt of goods or services. If the clerk does not have a purchase order for the invoice, the controller must be notified of the irregularity.
- Verifies purchase order quantity, price and terms for accuracy. Any irregularities will be reported and resolved before payment.
- Ensures that the data entry is accurate and done in a timely manner of this function and is trained in coding invoices.
- Receives checks from the controller for mailing to the vendor.
- Serves as a liaison between the company and the vendor, during common vendor inquiries.
