- Safety Management:
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive safety programs to ensure a safe working environment at the metals manufacturing plant.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Provide safety training and education to employees at all levels, ensuring a strong safety culture.
- Industrial Hygiene and Ergonomics:
- Conduct industrial hygiene studies and readings to determine hazardous exposure to employees.
- Perform ergonomics studies to improve workplace design and reduce the risk of musculoskeletal disorders.
- Develop white papers and business case studies with Return on Investment (ROI) for improvements in engineered controls, PPE, etc.
- Environmental Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including hazardous waste disposal and air quality management.
- Manage hazardous waste disposal and reporting in accordance with RCRA requirements.
- Oversee air emissions monitoring and reporting to ensure compliance with Title V permits.
- Develop and implement environmental management systems and policies.
- Program Management and Development:
- Develop and maintain EHS programs, policies, and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.
- Monitor and report on EHS performance metrics and trends.
- Collaborate with plant management to implement best practices and standardize EHS processes across the plant.
- Training and Development:
- Design and deliver EHS training programs for employees and management.
- Ensure that all employees are adequately trained on EHS policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Leadership and Collaboration:
- Foster a culture of safety and environmental stewardship across the manufacturing plant.
- Act as a subject matter expert and provide guidance and support to plant management on EHS matters.
- Influence and drive change to improve safety and environmental performance.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for improving environmental performance and sustainability.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance environmental compliance and safety performance.
- Conduct regular reviews of EHS programs and make necessary adjustments based on findings.
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in EHS management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in fiberglass or similar industries.
- Strong knowledge of industrial hygiene principles and ergonomics.
- Proven experience in developing and managing safety programs and business case studies with ROI.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various departments and external stakeholders.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or other relevant EHS certifications.
- Experience with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 standards.
- Master’s degree in a related field.

- Coordinate training for Emergency Response Personnel.
- Identify and assess potential health hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
