What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Supervisor position at White River Nutrition?
Essential purpose of the position:
To supervise and manage production operations within the soybean crushing facility to optimize performance and ensure profitability.
Supervision Requirements:
- Direct supervision responsibilities for approximately 1215 hourly operations employees.
- Education and Experience Requirements
- BS degree (Agriculture, Management, Business, or Engineering) a minimum of 5 years work experience. 10 years of relevant work experience could be substituted for degree.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the crushing staff to include training and developing the staff to meet the needs of the business.
- Lead and manage safety programs to ensure safe working conditions for all employees and compliance with all local, state, and federal requirements.
- Lead and manage environmental programs to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal requirements.
- Lead and manage maintaining high sanitation and housekeeping practices around the facility.
- Manage production operations to ensure maximum equipment and personnel utilization. This includes, but is not limited to: identifying process improvement opportunities, energy saving opportunities, and cost improvement opportunities. Also, assist in providing leadership support for shipping and receiving departments.
- Manage product quality to ensure customer requirements and specifications are attained.
- Manage routine and preventative maintenance programs for the production operations to ensure efficient operation.
- Support plant leadership is developing production schedules and managing capital projects.
- Communicate professionally with leadership, colleagues, direct reports, customers, and vendors.
- Perform job functions within established cGMP’s.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Time Expectations/Details:
- The position is salary with no overtime pay.
- Typical hours will be 7 AM 4 PM, Monday thru Friday. However, the position includes afterhours night and weekend oncall responsibilities to support the plant if issues arise. The oncall duties will be approximately every 34 weeks.
