The White River Valley Supervisory Union is seeking a full time Middle School Literacy Interventionist to provide learning opportunities to the students in our district, beginning July 1, 2025. The White River Valley Supervisory Union is located in the beautiful and picturesque White River Valley of Vermont. The White River Valley is approximately 25 minutes from Killington/Pico Ski Resort and 12 miles from Saskadena Six ski mountain. The White River flows through our districts making canoeing and kayaking very convenient after work or on the weekends.

This position plays a vital role in improving student achievement in literacy through both targeted intervention and collaboration with teaching teams.Key Responsibilities: Implement small-group and individual literacy interventions for students in grades 68Use diagnostic tools such as FastBridge and Track My Progress to monitor student progress and guide instructionWork with the school team to develop and implement Targeted Intervention Plans for students needing additional supportSupport universal literacy instruction by collaborating with classroom teachers across disciplinesFacilitate reading strategy instruction focused on comprehension, fluency, vocabulary, and critical thinkingParticipate in the schools Advisory program, building relationships with students and supporting their academic and social growthCommunicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues to ensure coordinated supportPreferred Qualifications: Experience as a reading specialist or literacy interventionistDeep understanding of adolescent literacy developmentFamiliarity with current reading assessments and data-driven instructionStrong collaborative and communication skillsStudent-centered mindset with a commitment to equity and inclusionWe are looking for a reflective educator who is passionate about helping middle school students thrive as readers and learners.
