Job Summary
The Hospital Controller protects hospital assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls. They will be responsible for oversight of all finance, accounting and reporting activities. The Controller will be involved in supporting presentations to the board and executives and will work closely with the senior leadership team.
The Controller will lead all day-to-day finance operations and supervise a team of staff members including functional responsibility over accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll. They will ensure that the hospital has systems and procedures in place to support stabilization and continued growth.
Essential Functions
Provide financial guidance to the Executive Team and other leadership regarding financial performance, strategies, and business decisions.Participate in and aids in audit / reviewing / reporting for the organization and its regulatory bodies.Coordinate and supervise completion of the monthly financial statements and financial packages for the hospital. This includes reconciliation and analysis of all balance sheet and income statement accounts.Monitoring of the financial performance and the maintenance of reasonable and appropriate financial plan and forecasts.Maintains all daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, including reimbursement, revenue, salary dollars, and specialty reimbursement as required for Annual Cost Report and Wage Index Surveys.Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures, as well as departmental goals.Manage and supervise the Accounts Payable, General ledger and Payroll functions.Establishes that staff provides the highest level of service excellence and technical accuracy.Coordinate and supervise completion of monthly financial statements and financial packages for multiple businesses. This includes reconciliation and analysis of all balance sheet and income statement accounts.Behavioral Standards

Experience
Minimum 5 years' progressive experience required in finance or accounting related areas with at least 3 years supervisory experience preferred.Experience in small hospital financial operations preferred.Education
Minimum bachelor's degree in accountingMHA, MBA or CPA is preferredLicensure / Certifications
HMFA certification is highly desirable
