White Sands, a HumanGood life plan community (CCRC) in beautiful La Jolla, CA, is seeking a Per Diem Certified Medication Technician for our Wellness Center. As the largest nonprofit owner / operator of senior living communities in California and one of the largest in the country, we are more than just a place to work. You would develop awareness of residents’ interests and needs and assist residents to maximize their independence.
Shifts : Per Diem
Pay Rate : $23.50 - $25.00 per hour
- Ensures safe, accurate assistance with resident medication, including physician order verification, interaction with pharmacies, checking medications for accuracy / correctness;
- Review and complete the Medication Administration Record (MAR) to record the physician orders and medications;
- Documents reasons prescribed drugs are not administered;
- Will ensure assistance of resident’s medication in a timely manner as prescribed by physician’s orders;
- May take vital signs or observe resident to detect response to specified types of medications and prepares report or notifies designated personnel of unexpected reactions; (This function is only performed to the extent provided for by state regulation).
- Facilitate medication orders as required;
- Monitors stock of medical supplies and orders new supplies as needed;
- Completes Weekly Audits of MARS and notifies Director or supervisor of audit results and needed corrective action; Weekly Audits are encouraged to be performed by licensed nurses, to maintain LN oversight of the med program. Med Aids / Techs are advised to audit EHR for missed meds on a daily basis, prior to leaving their shift
