POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for scheduling appointments for new and existing patients.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Answers telephones schedule/reschedule and coordinate appointments.
- Verifies insurance eligibility prior to scheduling a patient.
- Performs required computer functions applicable to daily operations.
- Possess a working knowledge of the Electronic Medical Record and the scheduling wizard.
- Transfers calls to other departments as needed.
- Possess strong customer service skills.
- Work on any special scheduling or outreach projects as assigned.
- Remains proactive regarding provider’s schedules.
- Consistently displays a positive attitude and a personal commitment to excellence.
- Remains current on insurance issues and which insurances are accepted by White-Wilson Medical Center.
- Attends all department meetings and clinic required meetings.

Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Customer service experience
Preferred Experience:
- One-year experience in the medical setting.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time time position in an outpatient medical office setting. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00am to 6:00pm with rotating Saturdays from 8am to 12pm. Based on business need, the ability to work a flexible schedule as approved in advance.
Travel:
This position does not require any travel.
Work Environment:
This position requires regular and reliable on-site attendance.
