Portfolio Finance Analyst - Fixed Income

A quantitative hedge fund in NYC is looking to make a strategic hire on their Portfolio Finance team supporting the fixed income trading desk. This candidate will play a key role in analyzing portfolio performance, managing risk, and developing financial models to support investment decisions. The candidate will be the third hire on the team, and the ideal candidate will have 10 years of experience working in trading, treasury, and/or portfolio finance.

Job Function

• Analyzing portfolio performance, risk metrics, and investment strategies using quantitative tools and models.
• Developing and implementing financial models to evaluate investment opportunities, forecast performance, and manage risk.
• Conducting research to identify and evaluate new investment strategies, often involving statistical analysis and data mining.
• Monitoring and managing portfolio risk, including market risk, credit risk, and liquidity risk.
• Contributing to the development and implementation of investment strategies, including asset allocation, security selection, and trading strategies.
• Preparing reports on portfolio performance, risk, and investment strategies, and communicating findings to portfolio managers and other stakeholders.
  
  
  

Job Requirements

• A strong academic background in finance, mathematics, statistics, or a related field is typically required. A Master's degree or Ph.D. is often preferred.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis, financial modeling, and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB) is essential.
• A solid understanding of financial markets, investment instruments, and portfolio management principles is necessary.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are crucial for evaluating investment opportunities and managing risk.
