Surgery - General Physician

Job Title: General Surgery Locums Coverage

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled general surgeon to work across a variety of clinical settings with a strong support team in place for both hospital-based and outpatient surgical care.

About the Position:

• Cover 20-25 shifts monthly at multiple locations.
• Responsibilities include clinic, elective OR, and on-call duties for general surgery cases.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Clinic Duties:
• Assess scheduled patients and determine the need for surgery.
• Coordinate surgery schedules with the OR team.
2. Rounding:
• Morning rounds with another surgeon and APP.
3. Procedures:
• Bread and butter general surgery procedures including appendectomy, gallbladder surgery, and endoscopies (upper & lower scopes).
4. On-Call Duties:
• Provide 24-hour clinic and call shifts (minimum of 2 days per week).

Schedule and Hours:

1. Clinic Coverage:
• Monday-Friday, 2-3 days per week.
2. OR Block Time:
• Elective surgeries scheduled based on the provider's assessments.
3. Consults:
• Average of 5 daily.
4. Outpatients Seen Daily:
• 20.
5. Scheduled Cases Per Day:
• 5-10.

Requirements:

1. Certifications:
• Board Certified/Eligible in General Surgery.
2. Licensure:
• Pennsylvania State License (or willing to obtain).
3. Experience:
• 1 year of experience preferred.
4. Certifications Required:
• ACLS, BLS, CPR, and PALS.
5. DEA:
• Required.
