What are the responsibilities and job description for the EL Teacher - Middle School position at Whitehall City School District?
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Valid Ohio certification/licensure
* Bachelor’s degree – TESOL validation
* Knowledge of inclusionary interdisciplinary instruction
* Knowledge of the Title VI Language Minority Compliance Procedures
* Sensitivity to the needs of LEP/ESL students and parents
* Demonstrate a positive and enthusiastic attitude
* Demonstrate innovative teaching techniques to meet high standards for proficiency outcomes
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
JOB GOAL: To provide diagnostic instruction to students in grades K – 12 who are lacking necessary skills to compete in the state proficiency requirements, in accordance with local, state and federal Title I school wide programs. Implement procedures to identify LEP/ESL students in the District who need an alternative program that provides LEP/ESL students with equal education opportunity to the District’s education program.
