Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our team in providing high-quality emergency medical care. The ideal candidate will be passionate about patient care, possess strong clinical skills, and be able to work effectively in high-pressure situations. As an EMT, you will play a crucial role in responding to emergencies, assessing patients, and delivering critical care in various settings, including hospitals and trauma centers. This is a primary 911 response agency. Our 24 hour ambulances are solely dedicated to the community for emergency response for the duration of 24 hour shifts with 48 hours in between shifts.
Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and provide immediate medical assistance.
- Perform physical examinations and assess patients' conditions to determine the necessary course of action.
- Administer injections and medications as required, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Utilize knowledge of anatomy and physiology to provide effective patient care.
- Maintain proficiency in basic life support techniques and emergency response procedures.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals in a Level I Trauma Center environment.
- Document all patient interactions and treatments accurately in accordance with medical terminology standards.
- Assist with the transportation of patients to hospitals or other medical facilities as needed.
- Ensure that all medical equipment is properly maintained and ready for use.
Experience
- Previous experience as an EMT or in a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with hospital environments and emergency room operations is advantageous.
- Knowledge of durable medical equipment (DME) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is essential.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a calm demeanor during emergencies.
