PURPOSE OF CLASSIFICATIONThe purpose of this classification is to under general supervision, perform duties associated with the coordination and administration of one or more recreation program(s).*OPEN UNTIL FILLED*
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.Provides supervision, training and support to volunteers, coaches, game officials and participants involved with recreational programs.Determines needs, develops plans, organizes and implements schedules for athletic leagues, programs, and facilities.Maintains records of activities conducted, participation results, etc.Assists with public relations and public awareness by developing brochures and conducting meetings within the community.Maintains contact with area coordinators, facilities, maintenance staff, and community groups to coordinate day-to-day activities and programs.Schedules facilities for events.Arranges for available medical and security services as needed.Restores facilities to usable conditions after event is over.Utilizes the appropriate recreational/athletic equipment and computer.ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONSPerforms other related duties as required.

PERFORMANCE APTITUDESData Utilization: Requires the ability to calculate and/or tabulate data. Includes performing subsequent actions in relation to these computational operations. Human Interaction: Requires the ability to provide guidance, assistance, and/or interpretation to others regarding the application of procedures and standards to specific situations. Equipment, Machinery, Tools, and Materials Utilization: Requires the ability to operate, maneuver and/or control the actions of equipment, machinery, tools, and/or materials used in performing essential functions. Verbal Aptitude: Requires the ability to utilize a wide variety of reference and descriptive data and information. Mathematical Aptitude: Requires the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; the ability to calculate decimals and percentages; the ability to utilize principles of fractions; and the ability to interpret graphs. Functional Reasoning: Requires the ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form. Involves semi-routine standardized work with some latitude for independent judgment concerning choices of action. Situational Reasoning: Requires the ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving a variety of generally pre-defined duties which are often characterized by frequent change.ADA COMPLIANCEPhysical Ability: While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
