What are the responsibilities and job description for the Finance Manager position at Whitman County Rural Library District?
Whitman County Rural Library District (WCL) seeks a detailed orientated individual to manage the library’s financial and personnel records processes. The Financial Manager receives and compiles bid information and prepares contracts in accordance with Library specifications and purchasing procedures. This position provides support to the Library Board of Trustees, including compiling meeting packets and taking meeting minutes. Manages custodial service and the completion of building and vehicle maintenance tasks. Compiles and files the necessary financial reports for the Auditor, County and State. Provide support to the Director and full-time staff.
Ideal Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training and experience in accounting, bookkeeping, business or public finance.
Responsible for managing payroll for approximately 36 employees. This includes tracking time worked, vacations, sick leave, wage increases, taxes as well as medical insurance and retirement.
Maintains personnel files with confidentiality
Ability to build and nurture positive relations with staff, Board of Trustees, Friends of the Library, public officials and the community
Outstanding written and oral communication
Strong problem solving, analytical, and evaluative skills that can be applied to various aspects of the position
Minimum Requirements :
Associates degree or equivalent combination of education, training and experience in accounting, bookkeeping, business or public finance.
Outstanding interpersonal and communication expertise.
Creative problem-solving ability.
