What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sanitation Worker position at Whitsons Culinary Group?
Sanitation Team Member
Ensure the plant is audit ready at all times by cleaning, scrubbing, and sanitizing equipment, tanks, stairs, walls, floors, baseboards, handrails, sinks, drains, and trash cans throughout the plant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize the exterior of all equipment and machinery daily
- Assist production staff with cleaning up major projects as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including sweeping, mopping, and wiping down surfaces
- Work with the Sanitation Supervisor to resolve sanitation-related issues and ensure the plant meets mandatory sanitation requirements
- Collaborate with production and other team members to meet sanitation schedules while maximizing productivity
Additional Duties:
- Participate in assigned teams and adhere to all plant, OSHA, and safety regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent required
- Food plant experience preferred
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English
- Must complete all Whitsons and government required training as necessary
Physical Demands:
- Frequently required to sit, walk, talk, and hear
- Use hands and fingers to feel, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls
- Stand on feet majority of the workday and lift up to 40 pounds
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing and warehouse environment with moderate to loud noise levels
- Exposure to extreme temperatures due to cooking and refrigeration equipment
