Kennel Technician/Veterinary Assistant Trainee
Whole Health Veterinary Care is seeking applications for a vibrant personality to join the team at our practice. We are looking for someone eager to join the team as a seasoned Technician or someone interested in learning new skills in an "on the job training" atmosphere. Kennel Technicians who are interested in training to become a Veterinary Assistant are encouraged to apply. Experience in the Veterinary field is a plus but not truly required for a person with the right attitude & commitment. This Part-Time entry level position will range from $15 to $25 per hour based on skills & experience. Work Schedule will be Mondays & Fridays from 8:30am to 6:30pm.

Position Responsibilities will eventually include all of the following:
- Maintain safe, secure, healthy, and humane environment by sterilizing and wrapping instruments, sanitizing operating areas, verifying shelf life of medications, and complying with legal regulations.
- Provide animal care by conducting initial intake & client interviews.
- Take vital signs and collect diagnostic samples.
- Maintain medical records using our designated software.
- Support animal examinations by assembling required supplies and instruments.
- Complete laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging.
- Perform diagnostic procedures under direct supervision of Veterinarian or Veterinary Technician.
- Administer medications, drugs, vaccines, and wound care under direct supervision of Veterinarian or Veterinary Technician.
- Prepare surgery suite and assist Veterinarian during surgeries.
- Coordinate inventory of supplies and equipment with Veterinary Administrative Professional & Office Manager.
- Liaise with courier services and laboratories to ensure that samples are delivered and collected on time.
Education Qualifications / Skills and Experience Requirements:
- Patient & professional verbal communication skills.
- Written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Attention to detail & critical thinking.
- Ability to work shifts, on weekends, and on public holidays, as needed.
