We are hiring a Production Chemist to prepare batches that meet product specifications and create new product formulations to support R&D and new product development.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Calculate formulations for hemp products based on raw material certificate of analysis from supplier
- Hands-on batching of formulations
- Perform routine testing on samples on in-house HPLC and adjust formulation to ensure products meet specifications
- Facilitate the development of new formulas supporting R&D for new products such as flavor development.
- Maintain clear and accurate records of formulations, procedures, observations, and results
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment; identify problems when equipment fails and conducts or recommends repairs.
- Revise and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as needed
- Manage ingredient inventory
- Identify and recommend improvements to processes to maintain quality, cost-effectiveness, regulatory and safety compliance
- Provide assistance to production technicians as needed
- Maintain clean, orderly and safe laboratory work area
- Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to effectively manage ambiguity and change.
- Excellent mathematical skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related science field required
- Preparing samples and operating HPCL test equipment
- Food science or flavor development
Physical Requirement:
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $26.00 per hour
