Cashier/Sales Associate

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and motivated Cashier/Sales Associate to join our retail team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service while handling transactions and assisting with product inquiries. Your ability to engage with customers and promote our products will play a key role in enhancing their shopping experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service throughout their shopping experience.
• Operate the cash register and handle cash transactions accurately, ensuring all sales are processed efficiently.
• Maintain knowledge of current promotions, products, and services to effectively assist customers and promote sales.
• Stock shelves and organize merchandise to ensure a well-presented store environment.
• Conduct product demonstrations to engage customers and highlight key features of merchandise.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the checkout area and store displays.
• Utilize retail math skills to manage transactions, including calculating discounts and processing returns.
• Exhibit strong phone etiquette when answering customer inquiries or directing calls as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and improve overall store performance.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a retail or customer service environment is preferred.
• Strong cash handling skills with experience using POS systems and cash registers.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
• Ability to demonstrate effective selling techniques while providing product information to customers.
• Basic understanding of retail math principles for accurate transaction processing.
• A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, particularly when stocking merchandise or managing inventory.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Seasonal, Temporary, Contract

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
