MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Learn how to produce, write and edit stories for audio and web
- Have the opportunity to create original content
- Learn to pitch ideas for features, interviews and episodes, and to communicate why a piece will work
- Work in a deadline-driven environment and learn to operate under pressure
- Have an experience that will foster interpersonal skills, quick and creative writing and exacting copy skills.
- Learn how to report a simple story, cut sound bites for use on air and write simple web and radio reports
- Learn how to produce audio in Pro Tools
- Go out on assignment with reporter (if pandemic permits)
Qualifications
Intern candidates should have demonstrated experience in journalism, radio/multi-media preferred. They should also be assertive and comfortable calling people on the phone to help secure people for show interviews. They must be a fast learner on the technical side. Strong writing skills required. Web design skills and some basic understanding of video production and editing processes a plus.

- A two- or three-page writing sample
- A Link, if appropriate, to media or digital work
- A letter of recommendation from an individual who can speak to your relevant experience, background, skills and/or work ethic.
*Individual must be a current junior or senior undergraduate student, graduate student or recent graduate (no more than three years from graduation date).
