JOB DESCRIPTION
Status: Seasonal, Full-time, Non-exempt
Responsibility: High level of supervision needed. Low level of operational decision making.
Reports to: Food & Beverage Director
Supervises: N/A
Skills:
• Basic Administrative Skills - Use of technology, verbal and written communication, business correspondence, organization, time management.
• Excellent Teamwork and Communication Skills – Interact, work, and relate with people, listen, speak, read, write, observe, use English fluently.
• Excellent Customer Service Skills – Product knowledge, problem-solving skills, time management, attentiveness, patience, positive attitude, a willingness to go the extra mile, responsibility, professionalism.
• Excellent Food Service Skills – food presentation, service etiquette, knowledge of food and beverage service standards, positive attitude, knowledge of menu components, food, beverage, and wine.
• Basic Safety Skills – Observe safety rules, safely operate equipment, food safety consciousness, CPR and First Aid.
• At least 3 months experience in a fine-dining or high-volume environment at a high-end restaurant, resort, or private club required.
Effort: Medium – Walk and stand for extended periods of time. Bend, reach, push, pull, lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Work Conditions: Level 3 – Half of the work is performed indoors, half outdoors, half of the work is performed in an air-conditioned environment, variable schedule based on business demands, some duties require working with hazards.
Duties: Responsible for providing food and beverage service to Club members and guests. Provides Club members and guests with the finest service while creating a warm and friendly environment.
• Takes accurate Food and Beverage orders and puts them into POS in a timely fashion. Follows standards of service techniques and resets tables properly.
• Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for members and guests of bar and dining room following standard recipes.
• Maintains a neat, clean, and orderly workstation at all times.
• Handles member and guest routine comments in a professional manner and according to Club policies and refers any issues or concerns to the manager.
• Keeps the proper number of supplies on hand during peak and slow periods. These include condiments, utensils, napkins, under-liners, glassware, etc.
• Completes opening and closing side work as assigned.
• Maintains a neat and professional appearance with nametag and uniform throughout the shift.
• Creates a friendly atmosphere by smiling and using member and guest names on a consistent basis.
• Anticipates the needs of members and guests to provide proactive service at all times.
• Maintains a neat and orderly record of all food & beverage transactions.
• Communicates with fellow employees (bus attendants, cooks, service assistants, bartenders, and managers) to increase the level of service provided to members and guests.
• Maintains work areas in a safe and sanitary manner.
• High-level knowledge of menu items, food, beverage and wine
• Ensures correct account numbers are in POS
• Ensures that menu items are put into the POS in an accurate and timely fashion.
