The Characterization laboratory is a fee-for service lab that provides cytogenetic and cell line characterization services to both academic institutions and commercial companies. The Senior Research Specialist will play a key role in providing technical services and other related responsibilities within the WiCell Characterization Lab. This will include performing laboratory techniques, and Cytogenetic based assays including but not limited to:
- Metaphase chromosome preparations for G-Banded Karyotype
- Fluorescence In Situ hybridization (FISH)
- PCR-based assays
- Short Tandem Repeat (STR) Analysis
- Thaw and culture of human pluripotent stem cell (hPSC) lines and related cell lines
- Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) Microarray Analysis
Work is normally performed in a typical laboratory/office environment with workplace flexibility of up to two remote working days per month. Weekend work every 6-8 weeks on a rotational basis is required.
This is a full-time, onsite position located at 504 S. Rosa Road in Research Park, on the west side of Madison.
