Position Overview: Oversee the smooth execution of events. The Banquet Captain will be responsible for leading event operations, ensuring high-quality service, and providing a seamless experience for our guests. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional service. This position reports directly to the Banquet Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the banquet service team, including servers, bartenders, and setup staff, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and according to event specifications.
- Assist the Banquet Manager in conducting pre-event meetings to review the event details, assignments, and expectations with the banquet staff.
- Oversee the setup and arrangement of banquet rooms, including tables, chairs, linens, and place settings, ensuring adherence to client specifications and club standards.
- Monitor and ensure the quality of food and beverage service during events, addressing any issues or guest requests promptly and professionally.
- Liaise with clients, event planners, and other departments to ensure all event needs are met and any last-minute changes are accommodated.
- Manage the flow of service, including timing of food and beverage courses, ensuring that all aspects of the event run smoothly and according to schedule.
- Handle any guest complaints or concerns with professionalism and efficiency, resolving issues to ensure a positive experience.
- Supervise the breakdown and cleanup of the banquet area after events, ensuring that all items are properly stored and the area is left in excellent condition.
- Assist with training and mentoring new staff members, promoting a positive and professional work environment.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Banquet Captain or in a similar supervisory role in a high-end or club setting.
- Must have experience in banquets or events, banquet set up, serving and bartending.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and events simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail with a focus on delivering high-quality service.
- Ability to lift 15-20 pounds and stand for extended periods.
We are hiring for multiple positions including morning and evening. Weekend and holiday availability is required.
