Position summary
We are currently seeking a CNC PROGRAMMER to join our team. In this position you will be responsible for efficiently and effectively programming CNC machines to ensure production and quality meet or exceed customer expectations.
Job responsibilities
- Create part programs utilizing Mastercam to control machining or processing of metal by automatic machine tools, equipment, or systems
- Create production set up documents
- Develop tool strategies to effectively determine tool selections, machine speeds, and feed rates
- Interpret drawings and models to create programs that utilize modern machining methodology, work holding and cutter selections, and cutting speeds and feeds to optimize production and ensure that quality parts are manufactured in accordance with customer specifications
- Provide shop support during the tool proving process of new and updated programs and daily support for problem solving and process improvements
- Evaluate and integrate shop machinist feedback into existing programs and processes in a timely manner
- Participate in continuous improvement activities
- Communicate effectively (verbal and written) with all contacts
- Design tooling and holding fixtures
- Conduct computer simulations to ensure that programs and machinery will function properly and produce parts that meet customer specifications
- Perform modifications to existing programs to enhance efficiency.
- Accept and adapt easily to change
Requirements
- 2 plus years of experience in CNC programming utilizing MasterCam
- Vericut experience preferred.
- Experience programming 3, 4, and 5 axis Mills
- Must possess the ability to utilize the software to create part geometry and subsequently develop milling CNC programs for 3,4, and 5 axis machines
- Must be able to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Proficient understanding of G&M-Code
- Comfortable in a shop-floor environment and in working with production personnel to solve problems
- Ability to take initiative, including asking for and offering help when needed, and perform work independently without being prompted
- Ability to manage competing priorities, prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently, and work within deadlines
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read and interpret models and blueprints
- Must be a self-motivated individual.
- A high school diploma required.
- Must be US citizen or permanent resident
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Noise levels ranging from quiet to loud
- Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on the manufacturing floor including, but not limited to, eye and ear protection.
- May occasionally lift and /or move up to 10-50 pounds
COMPENSATION
· Based on experience up to $35.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
