Your responsibilities will include leading and coordinating maintenance operations, optimizing energy management strategies, and ensuring the effective operation of district facilities and fleet resources. This role requires strong technical expertise, extensive experience in facility management, a positive attitude, a creative approach to problem-solving, and a dedicated work ethic.

Essential Performance Responsibilities
- Assists the Director, Buildings and Grounds/Energy Management, with management oversight and the continuous operation of 15 maintenance shops, Building Engineers, and Energy Management departments
- Holds the primary responsibility, under direction of the Director, Buildings and Grounds/Energy Management for the overall management of personnel, equipment, and material needs for the department
- Provides 24-hour emergency response services for all critical equipment and facilities
- Communicates pertinent information and delegates authority to empower personnel within Buildings and Grounds/Energy Management and throughout the School Service Center
- Assumes overall responsibility and accountability for the maintenance budget, in collaboration with the Director, Buildings and Grounds/Energy Management
- Maintains records and reports as required
- Facilitates and reviews Classified Employee Performance Appraisal system with all employees in department, in collaboration with the Director, Buildings and Grounds/Energy Management
- Organizes inservice training for all personnel
- Maintains a valid Kansas driver's license at all times throughout employment
- Assists in supervising snow removal operations
- Assumes responsibility for ensuring that resolution and disciplinary issues within the Buildings and Grounds/Energy Management departments are handled in accordance with Board of Education policy and procedures which have been established for the Facilities Division
- Evaluate department performance data and work to improve metrics
- Performs other duties as necessary or required by the Division Director of Facilities
- Consistently works to improve Customer Service throughout the Facilities Division

- In order for schools to operate effectively, employees are expected to perform all assigned duties and work all scheduled hours during each designated workday, unless the employee has received approved leave
- Any deviation from assigned hours must have prior approval from the employee's supervisor or building administrator
- All employees are required to report to work dressed in a manner that reflects a positive image of USD 259 and is appropriate for their position
- HS Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's degree preferred or 5 years related experience preferred
- 2 years previous supervisory/management experience preferred
