This position requires access to EAR or ITAR controlled technologies. Applicants are required to be eligible for employment under U.S. export control laws and must meet the requirement of being a “U.S. Citizen”.
Job Story
Students working in the eXtended Reality (XR) lab will learn to utilize programming and rendering concepts in support of various projects for NIAR labs. Their tasks may range from classroom support and project research to direct industry program support. Students will be expected to assist lab staff in any way possible to help make the lab successful, presentable to customers, and accomplish projects in a timely manner. Projects will involve extensive use of 3D rendering tools such as Blender 3D, 3DS Max, Unity Engine, and Unreal Engine. Additionally, projects may involve extensive programming in one more languages depending upon project needs. Students must have their own transportation as some local travel between facilities may be required.
Job Summary
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.
Job Duties
Assisting staff with project design, development, and documentation
Assist staff with research project development
Assisting staff on industry-level support
Operate and help maintain tools and equipment
Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Additional Requirements
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office Products
Have great attention to detail
Ability to lift and carry up to 25lbs
Able to work 20 hrs per week.
Ability to work independently on extensive tasks
Familiarity with Computer Science (CS), Computer Engineering (CE), Game Design, or other engineering concepts
Current Undergraduate student
Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position.
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phones, printers, copiers, and calculators.
Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
Salary : $15 - $18
