Job Duties
As a Tutor Counselor, you will play a key role in supporting high school students from diverse backgrounds, guiding them through both academic and personal growth during their five-week summer experience. Your responsibilities will include leading daily activities, offering tutoring assistance in core subjects like math, English, and science, and serving as a positive role model to encourage students to explore their potential.
In addition to tutoring, you will participate in fun and enriching social, cultural, and educational activities that inspire learning and foster a sense of community. This is an excellent opportunity for any college student, regardless of your university affiliation, to gain valuable experience in education, leadership, and mentorship.
You’ll also have the chance to contribute to the success of our program by attending team meetings, maintaining student records, and taking on various tasks that help create a supportive and engaging learning environment.
Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills
Experience working with high school students from diverse backgrounds
Tutoring experience
A valid Driver's License
The pay rate is depending on qualifications and experience. Room and board provided.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with TRIO Programs (preferred)
Previous work experience in a residential setting (preferred)
Physical Requirements
Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information
