About this position:
The Crew Leader is responsible for landscape projects in the County parks system, park projects, playground maintenance, special event support and general park maintenance projects as assigned. The position occasionally supervises co-workers in project-oriented tasks, as directed by Parks Administration. Position responsibilities include:
- Application of herbicides and fertilizer as needed for landscape maintenance;
- Trail maintenance, trash removal, janitorial duties;
- Snow removal, and building maintenance; and
- Assistance with set-up and take-down tasks for special events, tourism sporting events and recreation programs as needed.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED; Valid Driver's License with a good driving record; CPR and First Aid Certification within 6 months of hire; NIMS Emergency Certification within 3 months of hire; Pesticide applicator's permit; Must become licensed forklift operator within 1 year; Ability to relate to the public in a polite and professional manner and to be a team player and be a self-starter; Minimum of 3 years of experience in landscape maintenance and working knowledge of landscape practices; Experience in supervision of small crews; Must be able to operate grass cutting equipment, chain saws, string trimmers, sprayers, tractors, and hand tools; Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry is a plus; Ability to be on call 24/7 availability for weather events as needed in the County; and Must be able to obtain and maintain CSPI certification within 18 months.

Pay: $36,710.00 - $44,409.00 per year
