Core Responsibilities :
Conduct comprehensive job site audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Review and evaluate daily Task Hazard Analyses for accuracy and effectiveness.
Engage directly with craft employees to promote a strong safety culture and deliver safety messages.
Facilitate safety training sessions, including job site safety orientations for new personnel.
Manage incident reporting processes and lead root cause analyses to identify corrective actions.
Assist in the development and implementation of job site-specific safety plans.
Provide technical safety advice to both field and office personnel, acting as a trusted resource for the project team.
Collaborate with the safety team and Director of Safety on various initiatives and programs.
Conduct research and complete tasks or projects assigned by the Director of Safety.
Identify opportunities for safety improvement and recommend guidelines, policies, procedures, and training to address gaps.
Position Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Environmental Health and Safety, or equivalent experience in a safety role within commercial construction (preferred).
Minimum of 3 years of professional safety experience, particularly in conditions typical of construction sites.
OSHA 30-hour certification required.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with personnel at all levels, from management to frontline workers.
Demonstrated expertise in event management, including classification of potential event consequences, data collection, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and lessons learned dissemination.
Preferred experience with MEP systems, particularly electrical and mechanical isolation and lockout / tagout coordination.
Familiarity with planning and implementing safety measures in fall protection / prevention, rigging and hoisting, crane operations, underground utility damage prevention, environmental remediation, demolition, fire prevention, public protection, scaffolding, indoor air quality control, and mobile equipment operations.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform activities such as sitting, standing, walking, climbing, stooping, and traversing rough terrain in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to respond quickly to dynamic situations while maintaining adherence to legally mandated safety standards.
